Hi everyone! This is my first time posting here. I just found the site and am loving it. I need some advice about my blue Basset.

I have four Bassets. Proud hound mama that I am I have to tell a little about my babies! :)

Oliver: Lemon/White, rescue, brother to Blossom, 2 years old July 31, therapy dog
Blossom: Tri, rescue, sister to Oliver, 2 years old July 31
Bonnie Blue: Blue tri (almost all blue), rescue, turned one year in March, therapy dog, half sister to all of the Bassets
Isabel: Tri, rescue, half sister to all of the above, 3.5 months
BTW, all of my Bassets came from the same BYB.

About my problem child:

The day I picked up Bonnie (she as 7 weeks) we administered her first DHPP (I never use Lepto). She immediately started swelling everywhere. From muzzle to tail to toes. Vet gave meds to help. I had to give Benedryl for two more days. That is how long it took for her swelling to go down. Her thoart swells so much she has difficulty breathing.
After that episode, we pre-medicated her prior to vaccinations with Dexi and Benedryl injection. Also, I give her Benedryl two hours prior to going to vet.
Even with the meds she still has a moderate to severe reaction. But thankfully, not enough to impair breathing.
I decided to have her Rabies vac given two weeks after her fourth puppy vaccinations.
We pre-medicated, but Bonnie still had a severe reaction to the Rabies. This is odd because the virus is killed, but...
After all vacs Bonnie has gastro problems for 1.5 weeks too.

Bonnie is due for her yearly vacc the end of this summer. My vet found a company in Cali that produces a Rabies vac that is supposed to help dogs with reactions. However, he has never used it, nor have any of his friends. We are hesitant to use something unproven on my baby.

Has anyone had any experience with one of these vaccines? Or know of anything else we can try? Other than her reactions to the shots, she is in great health. Blood work-ups, x-rays, a visit to the dermatologist to determine if her skin was alright. With her being a rare AND a dilute color I was a tad worried. :)
Both my vet and I have looked for any information on Blue Bassets, but were unable to find anything other than a breeder with mottled looking ones in Georgia. No medical info at all.

ANY advice would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks again!
