Many people have told me about the basset odor problem. I
have not had that problem with either basset that I own(ed). I attributed it to rarely if ever feeding them table scraps.

If your doggie has bassets ears, they can get dirty easily and have a bad odor. I would suggest you mention it to your Vet though and see what they have to say about it.
