The breeder likes the way we love and take care of Daisy (the puppy) so much that she's offered to let us raise one for breading by her when the dog is ready. I think the proximity of our homes may have something to do with the deal as well.
The deal is the following; the breeder would like us to own the dog for free, she would pay for the medical as well, with the requirement that when the dog is breadable, she would get the dog for a few months to make some puppies. After the breading, she'd fix the dog and return it to us.
We are honored by the offer, but we are afraid of wrecking a good thing. I've heard that sometimes dogs could bond more with the other dogs over the owners. Daisy loves us so much now, I wouldn't want to mess up a good thing.
Do you have any advice and reference data I could look up on this subject?
Thanks,
Mark Gross
