Kushings is a disease of the liver. The disease is not good, but the treatment is TERRIBLE, with many side effects. My basset was diagnosed with this about 9 months ago. My vet said she would not put her own dog through the treatment. The treatment doesn't cure, it "may" prolong life. Best thing to do is keep them on a low fat diet. So far the only signs in my basset are the excessive drinking, AND excessive eating, it's like a trigger goes off in her head and she just has to keep eating (more than normal excessive eating).
