Hi,
here are greetings from Germany! I am always "running around" on Basset Hound pages and so
found yours.
We have a BH, Murphie, who was brought from the US by a soldier, then went through four families
before ending up - at the age of 4 years - in a German animal shelter. That's where I discovered
him, thin, suspicious, defensive and took him home to be pampered and to become a great friend of
our Charlie, a giant of a bloodhound - the gentlest soul on earth.
Charlie died in April and Murphie is now about 12 years old.
There is another bloodhound-lady here, 2 years old, and Olli, a basset hound (10). Olli was tied to
a short chain outside for about six years and has been with us for almost four years now, doing well
- even though she is very dominant.
Murphie has become quite famous in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He has had "his own" column
in a dog magazine for six years and it is really amazing how many people know and love him.
Maybe you can use a photo or two for your gallery - Murphie sending greetings from Germany to his
home country, along with his British companion (Minifee - which means "Little Fairy" - the bloodhound from a hunting pack) and Olli, the red/white basset hound who was born in Moscow. - and the Great
Charlie who was his first friend ever - Colorful mixture, don't you think! And they get along superbly.
Would make a good example to the political world.
Best regards from Christine
